FEATURED ON HEI ASTRID!

Hei Astrid is a favorite blog of mine. I love her cozy mostly film posts. She seems to live such a full, peaceful life! I love that! I was honored when Astrid contacted me to feature me on her blogs "Why Do You Shoot Film" section! I've found some of my very favorite photographers reading through this section!

Take a peek at the post here and see why I shoot film!

PS
I had every intention to take a film photograph for this post but my brand new scanner pooped out on me and I'm waiting for the replacement so enjoy the irony of a "Why I Shoot Film" post with a digital image!

PPS
YES! This little area you're looking at is my brand new dedicated scanning nook! I am SO excited to have a little area for my film scanning parties!

LOVING LATELY // AUGUST

August has me lusting after:

- This girls daily 8x10 self portraits
- This golden glittery belt from Target that I couldn't resist
- Lisa Congdon's cute blog! A girl after my own handwriting heart!
- Two words. Mint. Flats
- Every single thing in this store. All of it
- The Present & Correct Blog as well
- The War on Drugs. Give them a listen if you love Springsteen & Dylan! Also, check out their webpage. I love their landing page!

If you're into Pinterest, and you should be, follow my "gimmie" board for many ridiculous things my heart desires! What are some of your wants?

NUEVA YORK

I leave to shoot a wonderful wedding in New York City on Thursday! I can't wait. I am super excited to shoot this! It's on a roof top in Manhattan with a beautiful view. It's going to be AMAZING.

As usual I'm looking for suggestions of things I shouldn't miss! Here's what I'm hoping to do:

- visit the carousel in Central Park
- can you believe all the times I've been to NYC I've never been by The Guggenheim?! so I'm going there
- the Marimekko Store
- The Impossible Project (a given)
- Shake Shack
- The Lomo Store
- Book Marc

What am I missing? I've been to most of the staple touristy spots, now I'm looking for some good photo worthy recommendations!

Thank you friends!

OH INTERNET

Google Reader is a blessing and a curse. It's a DRUG!  Inspiring and all consuming at the same time. Must. Get. Away. From. Computer. And. Make. Book.....

Is it really almost the end of August already?!

Good grief!

Hey you....quit reading blogs and go get some stuff done too!

My awesome husband updated my website bio! I still have to make selects for an over all update (long over due!) but I'm excited about my new bio page.

What do you think of the lil update?

SMELL YA LATER, STUFF!

Today I'm a bag of mixed feelings. I want to purge EVERYTHING in my closet and just start from scratch. I have some things I've been hanging onto for sentimental reasons, somethings I'm hoping to one day fit into again, and somethings that I'm waiting for the perfect occasion to wear. I like having a variety of clothes but I can't stand the idea of having something and not using it. Plus I get such a rush from getting rid of things. I like getting that weight off my closets' shoulders.

Plus, everyone is starting to talk about Autumn. Already?! I should get rid of everything but basics and start all over again!

Am I alone here?

HOME

I love our new place. I like the wooden floors. All the natural light. Having a dining room. Having a dishwasher. Listening to the pitter patter of the rabbits hopping around the house. The skylight in our bathroom. Even this view out our dining room window of the house next door to ours.

LOLLAPALOOZA

Lollapalooza was so fun this year. We got to see At The Drive In, Sigur Ros, Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Walkmen, and a few other bands. So much fun. I wish I could have seen Black Sabbath and M83 but it was worth missing them to photograph the Rolling Stone party alongside of my pal and the very talented Anjali Pinto

Do you have a favorite music fest? We don't travel to go to many since Lolla is usually so huge and right in our city!

BLURRY

One of the things I love about shooting film is that it isn't perfect, much like not much I've come across in life is perfect except little bunnies and finding money on the sidewalk.

I've been a little neglectful of my Etsy shop. I just paid it a visit and didn't realize there's a new little "about" page option for every shop. Here's mine!

CHARLEE'S DRESSER

This dresser belonged to my brother, Charlee. It's one of the only things I have right now that were his and I love it, even if Mom emasculated it by using her decoupage skillz.

Do you have an object that has sentimental value to you from a sibling?

PS
This image kind of looks like expired Polaroid film doesn't it? This is one of the images I took using The Impossible Projects test film for opacity. What does that mean? It means soon we'll be able to watch our instant film develop before our eyes!! MAGIC. I couldn't be more excited about this.

ALWAYS, COCA-COLA

If I could only drink one thing for the rest of my life it'd absolutely be Coca Cola Classic in a can. The mexican bottles are good too, but canned Coke is my fave.

I'm kind of excited that Polaroid Week is at the same time as The August Break! What perfect timing!
