BRENT // PORTRAIT

When Brent asked me to take a few portraits for him before it got mind numbingly cold outside I jumped at the chance. Brent has one of the best natural smiles I've ever seen. I always joke with him that he's got smyzing down too!

I'm here in Chicago thinking of warmer days, hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

ARCHIVING // KIND OF A BIG DEAL

I recently purchased a little scanning sensation called a Kodak Pakon, which is allowing me to rather quickly scan in all of my negatives. Being that it's Winter and I have more free time than usual, I am excited at the prospect of actually achieving this long time goal of mine!

While I use a digital camera for "work" nearly all of my personal photos are taken with film of some sort, whether that be 35mm or instant film of some variety. As I've been working on these scans I started digging around to take a peek at some of my digital archives as well and have found a ton of photos I've never really shared anywhere that I like. I thought I might start sharing a photo or two a day here!

The photo in this post was from a trip to the Field Museum years ago when I first moved here to Chicago.

I hope you are all staying busy and warm!

THE LITTLE RABBITS

I am such a fan of the little details that go into any special gathering whether it be a dinner party, your wedding day, a birthday party or just a fun picnic! I see delivering prints and discs to my clients as an opportunity to send out a package that is sure to deliver a smile!

I haven't made a big announcement on here, but from that hobby of making special packages for my wedding clients I have made a shop with some paper goods to help others make creative presentations! The shop is called The Little Rabbits, there you can find things like confetti, kraft envelopes, glassine bags in a variety of sizes, bakers twine and did I mention confetti? Lots of it! Take a peek and get inspired, make sure your next letter or package goes out looking like a million bucks!

PUNCH BUGGY

Did you ever play the punch buggy game growing up? You know, where you call out a VW bug and it's color? My family loved playing that game, even still when I see a VW bug I feel like I need to call it out. Last year I started to collect them on film. Pictured above are there I found in San Francisco. You can follow my set here, there will be more to come!

SAN FRANCISCO // ON FILM

San Francisco is such a fun city to hang out in. The temperature is perfect, there is a lot to see, people there seem very laid back and there is no shortage of oddities so it's a feast for the photographer's eye! These are a few of my favorite snap shots from my trip there back in October. These were all taken with a little point and shoot LC-A (which has recently been replaced with a Contax T2- photos to come!) on inexpensive Kodak 400 film.
