GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE

Remember just a month ago when I resolved to be happy with what I have? That didn't last long. Shortly after writing that post I went ahead and bought myself an Olympus XA! I've been wanting a Lomo LCA for years, I even made getting one one of the 30 things to do before I turn 30 last year. A few friends online told me that this little cutie has the same feel as the LCA but can be found for significantly less. I scored mine for $35 with the flash and am so happy it's actually working! I hope to run a roll through it on my way to and from work this week. Also, note the super cute little wrist holder thingie I got at the San Francisco Lomography store on my trip last month! I want one for each of my cameras!

My wants do not stop at cameras. Here are a few things that have captured my heart lately:

- These cute shoes. And these. And these too!
- I am obsessed with these Impossible Project storage boxes.
- I love the concept behind this Gap style website/magazine thing. I also want a pair of red pants so badly!
- Cheerwine!!!!

Well, Cheerwine always has my heart but, ya know.

  1. This camera is on my wishlist and $35 is so good compared to the LC-A, I'm keeping my eye out for one too!

    1. I've only shot a test roll through it to make sure it works and so far I'm impressed! The focusing system seems like it takes some getting used to but it's small enough for any purse or pocket with the flash attachment!

The store I work at has one for sale that isn't listed yet. I can look into it for you if you're interested!

  2. I have this too! It's a great camera, except for the tiny viewfinder. But other than that, I love it!

    1. Jackie, do you have any of your photos you've taken with it online? I'd love to see the results! Yes the viewfinder is tiny and the focusing range seems a little limited but I've seen some amazing shots taken with the camera, I'm excited to use it more!

    3. Thanks for sharing the link Jackie! I love your images!!! I have to keep at it, my first roll was rather hideous but I'll just call that one a learning curve!

  4. The XA is my carry-everywhere-use-everday-go to camera for point & shoots. i love it. it gets crazy good saturation and vignetting in full sun on 400film. it's so light and tiny and gets even smaller when you take the flash off. everything about this camera makes life more fun.

    1. I've only run a test roll through it and I couldn't seem to get the focus right but I think it's just probably a small learning curve. I'm really excited about the camera and glad to have the flash option for fun nights out! It's also awesome that it has a backlit function?! So cool!
