NEW YORK // SEPTEMBER

I love New York. It seems like I've managed to find myself there at least once a year for the past 8 years or so. There's always something new there and it feels like such a different city through the different seasons. I love that.

A wedding brought me there this time. Such a fun wedding to shoot on a rooftop in Midtown with the Empire State Building as our backdrop. More on the wedding photos later! I decided that in addition to my digital gear (to shoot the wedding with) I'd lug around my Mamiya Universal, SX70 and because I didn't have more than a crevice of space in my luggage, I brought my Olympus XA in lieu of my favorite, but much heftier- Canon AE. This set up seemed to work pretty well. Wish I would have had my Ona insert for this trip to help keep everything organized and safe in my HUGE Poler tote I carried everything around in.

You can see my entire trip (on film) here!

N E W

The seasons are turning here in Chicago. Ever so slightly, but it's happening. Leaves are shimmying down trees. The air is getting cooler in the evenings. The water in the pool is getting too cold for a dip. In the past I've panicked when I feel Fall arriving but Chicago Autumn is beautiful so this year instead of fretting the impending doom of Winter, I've decided to enjoy Fall! I'll let you know how it goes.

Along with the changing of seasons Christopher and I have been working hard on some changes for my branding! Jump out of Google Reader and take a peek at my blog, website, Facebook page, and even my Twitter. They've been revamped a little. I'm really excited for the change and for everything to have a cohesive look. Last year I decided to pursue wedding photography more and even though it's not a completely full time thing yet, I shot some really great weddings this year and look forward to shooting more soon. Next year is already beginning to book up and I couldn't be more excited and thankful for that!

So what do y'all think about the changes? Yay or nay? And also, how awesome is my husband for giving up his free time to overhaul everything for me?!

BLACK LABEL

Images by Max Wanger with handwriting by moi

It's no secret that I love everything about Ban.do. They have a great blog, some of the best product shots ever, and of course their accessories are SO RAD. I have their sequined heart in every color and one of their pom pom flowers, which really spice up any ole' outfit! I've been anticipating the unveiling of this season's Black Label line and man alive, I was NOT disappointed! I want every single piece! I even love what each piece is called. My favorite, Cake Eater! A phrase my husband often says!

Which of these would you wear? I am drooling all over Color Riot. I think it'd look so awesome in my big curly hair!

ONA .. I THINK I LOVE YOU!

One day I was distracting myself with Pinterest when the camera bag Gods smiled down on me and I stumbled upon Ona Bags! Have you heard of them? More importantly, have you SEEN them?! Ona makes some sexy swank bags that truly do not look like camera bags! I have a weakness for bunnies, bottled Coca-Cola, cute flats and PURSES/TOTES/BAGS, so you can imagine how my heart fluttered upon seeing their line of beautiful and functional bags

Their Roma insert really grabbed me. It's a small, protective insert (with p l e n t y of pockets) that you slide into a purse / tote / backpack or bag you already own! So basically, any purse or bag can be your camera bag. I wanted one - DUH! The folks over at Ona were kind enough to send me one to review! Let's take a peek:

This bag is perfect for organizing a tote, camera or not! It has FIVE outside pockets. The front has two pockets which are the perfect size for a box of Impossible Project film and for instant prints to develop in! The back pocket fits an iPad and could easily fit any kind of tablet or.......100 photobooth strips.  The side of the bag has two pockets, which I used to store my keys and pens in. It also has a divider you can place any way you'd like inside the bag.

I met up for coffee with my super cute, super talented friend, Rachel. I asked her to take the bag set up I had (pretty big tote with the The Roma insert in it) out for a spin to see what she thought. We both fawned over it. The accessibility to the pockets is great, the clasps on the front of the bag open and close easily and the insert has just the right amount of protective material to keep your cameras safe without being too bulky.

I tried several combinations of cameras in the insert. I easily fit my Canon AE with 28mm lens and folded SX70 in the bag along with my wallet. I also managed to fit my Mamiya Universal inside the insert and a box of film in one of the front pockets. Pictured here are my iPhone, pen, pencil, keys, phone charger, Olympus XA, two folding SX-70's, a pack of Impossible Project's PX70 film, a few darkslides, Moleskin planner, and wallet. Would you believe I could have easily fit more things into those pockets?!

I think EVERYONE should have one of these! Seriously, you can make any bag of your choice a safe haven for your equipment, not to mention it's a tote/bag organizer. Let's be honest, once you toss a few things into your purse/bag/backpack, it turns into an abyss for your items! The The Roma lets you keep your things well organized. I've been using this in my totes with and without cameras since I got it! What are you waiting for? Get yours here!

What do you guys think? Is this a dream come true or what?!

A big thank you to Ona for sending this thing of dreams my way, and to Rachel for palling around with me!

PS
I'm definitely asking for one of these babies for my birthday!
